I had a turbo 4runner, and they are a little more peppier than the non turbos. Plus, there are a few easy ways to get more power out of them. Get the turbo truck if you can, you won't regret it.
Salue turbo toy truck This is Jeff Moskovitz's site and he's done quite a lot to his turbo truck.

I had mine for 14 years and no problems except a couple sets of valve seals. The main thing (as on any turbo) is if the maintenance was done religiously and care was taken not to heat soak the turbo. ie run it hard and then shut the motor off without letting the turbo cool. There is a small oil line that feeds the turbo bearings and if you run it hard adn shut it down the line would eventually clog due to the oil coke (basically burnt oil residue) in the line. No oil, bearings fail = new turbo!
