Throttle Body Questions: Cleaning and Modification
Hello All,
What product do you use to clean the throttle body? I've read carb cleaner can be to harsh on sensors and gaskets.
What's your procedure for a good TB cleaning?
(I have a 95 4runner 3.0 3VZE)
Anyone here have a bored out TB from Downey, D.O.A, LC Engineering, etc. It looks to me this might be one of the best price/performance mods around for the second gen. Besides adjusting the Mass air sensor is there anything else that should
done after it's installed. Are there any long term draw backs from running a richer mixture?
I almost fell over when I couldn't find either Gadget or Corey with the larger TB mod. Guys?
I'm thinking this might be my one and only mod for a while b/c of school starting. IMHO this looks to be the quickest and best bang for the buck. What your opinion?
Thanks,
Sam

Hi Sam, they have TB cleaner out there to use, which is what is recommended over carb cleaner.
I have heard some pretty bad stories about using carb cleaner.
I have thought about getting mine bored out, but it's not a high priority right now.
This search here tuned up a Nissan TB cleaning job on the 'Net.
