Arrow Te1 -> E1 Jump Problem

man....you guys must be getting sick of all my questions, but its sure helping me a lot . well, i've got my truck at the shop setting the timing adjusted (i don't have a light) and the guy says that he can't get it to time right. he says when he jumps the Te1 to the E1 nothing happens. he then tries to set it to what it should be but without the jump but says he can't get it there either. Is this a TPS problem? Any other ideas. Thanks again for all the help. You guys are awesome!

I would say yes to the TPS problem. Try and adjust it back to the specs., then try the timming again. If your cpu is not thinking idle because the tps is out of wack that could cause a problem.

Make sure the CE light is flashing when the diagnostic connector is jumpered. I've had problems with getting a good connection before. Then try to set your timing. If that doesn't work, then yes, I would say your TPS needs to be readjusted or replaced.
