Hey!

Rather than getting a Marling or such, would it be possible to just swap in a lower gear for 4-Lo in the existing T-case?

Haven't seen much on this so I doubt it's possible but it would sure help.

If you have a gear driven T-case, yes you can. Your stock reduction is somewhere in the 2.28:1 range. Marlin and maybe inchworm sell 4.0:1 and 4.7:1 gearsets to go into your existing case.

Somewhere on Marlin's site there is a chart that breaks down transfers by year, engine and tranny.

Not cheap but no doubt you get what you pay for.

Thanks Matt! I checked out their web page and it looks like good stuff. Unfortunately, it won't work for me as I have the V6 and I wasn't thinking of spending a grand for this.

Any other options? That 80:1 crawl ratio would be sweet!

You might get a good old gear driven box from a junkyard for about $150 and swap it in. Call Marlin. He knows everything about Toy gearboxes and transfers. I'll bet a gear driven transfer from a junkyard will bolt right up to your tranny.
