You can put me down for 5 SC if you can get them for 1600 to 1700. My boss will love that!

i just bought the s/c, and here is what i learned about it:

sdastg1: the dealerships sold those so low only because trd dropped the price to the dealers the end of last year. the only reason they did this was to allow a bunch of people to buy them so the word about these things. from what trd and many dealerships told me, trd will never put these on sale again. the current dealer cost is about $2,200+.

i sent a bulk email to 300+ toy dealerships and a broadcast fax to 800+ dealerships, asking if any of them were able to meet the price of $1,850 that i was quoted. none of them were. the closest one was carson toyota in ca, who still has a couple of them left that they purchased last year during that sale, and they will not sell them below $1,999 shipped.

i'm not trying to shoot anyone down, you might find other info than i did. i just got that same story from talking to an ungodly amount of dealers (after contacting over 1,000 of them). good luck and i'm gonna kick my own a$$ if you guys are able to get them cheaper than the $1,999 that i paid after all the effoert i put into it.

Carson was where bought mine from. They sell them through Ebay auctions, and they have one listed right now:

There's one day left on the auction. Go for it asap! (No, I don't work for them.)

Sounds like a steal!

We should be able to figure out how to make these ourselves.

I wonder if they would even make much of a difference on a 3.4L???

Make it 11.

From all that I've read, I _should_ be able to do this without all the fuel mods (though the fuel mods make it better). Given that, and if this ends up being $1700 or so, then I'm in.

I'll sell stuff to be able to afford it.

if you can find it for $1700, I'm in.
Edit: you might want to post this over at ODW too, you might be able to round up one or two more

If your able to find 15-20 people, maybe someone knows someone at TRD, and they can sell it directly to us as a group buy.

Ahh ˟˟˟˟k, I'll buy @ $1700 too. If you can get it in the $1700-$1900 range, I'd still consider it... I'm gonna be so broke.

man I did the same thing a year ago and got them for $1700 + shipping, and only 4-5 people bought.

I seriously doubt TRD will put them on sale again though... I hope they do, however!

Understood, and respected.

I'm in. If it happens then I have the cash available. My "I'll sell something..." comment is basically "I'll sell something to cover the money that just lept out of my checking account".

I didnt know TOR was actually laughing at my attemp until i saw his profile. That really wasnt funny, not at all actually. so x5 for TOR is removed i guess since he was trying to make an ass out of me. Yes chances of us getting the SC at this price are very slim, but it's certainly worth the shot. I'm not in too much of a hurry to get these, and im almost sure these will be offered at a lower price in couple of months(cross fingers)

i think tor was serious, i think his dealer cost is more than 1700, as are all the dealers in the country. good luck tho...
