Super Charged guys and towing?
I need more power for towing so I'm thinking of SCing my 4runner.
First, should I be concerned with my mileage on my engine, 175k? It runs great and doesn't use any oil and has been well maintained.
Second, is a SC good for highway towing power?
Third, I know Toyota mounts the SC up without any other mods, Do I NEED to do a 7th injector or anything else if I don't change pulley size or make any other changes?
I just want the power to cruise down the highway with my 3500# trailer at 75mph.
Opinions wanted.

s/c with high mileage
"They" usually will say you should not S/C an engine once over 100k but I do believe these 3.4L engines coupled with the TRD S/C is the exception. It would do wonders for you towing as its best attributes are realized on the higher end in fourth gear at hwy speeds. Basically, you would not need to down shift to 3rd nearly as much if on an incline or passing....that said, the fuel upgrades are a must. URDUSA.com has you covered. From what I've read, and from working on my 98, I know the 99-2002 is much easier to tune than the earlier models.
Don't bother paying a high price stealership to install it as any mechanic can do it with relative ease. The most difficult thing to do is probably wire in the new injectors and a piggyback computer.
contact Gadget at URD for more info.

Depending on what your towing, although you will have the power you will not have the stability and the trailer or dolly will be a chore honestly.
Wider is better, for the price of supercharging you could buy a nice older F250 or Chevy 2500.

The trailer is extremely stable and the 4runner handles great with it. I have a few thousand miles on it already but want to be able to hold the speedlimit. Right now if I have a strong headwind I'll drop down to 50 or 60 miles per hour.
I have thought about a "Tow Vehicle" but don't want to get rid of the 4runner, can't afford a newer low mileage truck with keeping the 4runner and don't want to buy someones used-up junk.
