Hey all, I thought you may be interested in this pic. Billy is out for a while, but here is the latest update of his rig with the new paint scheme and 37x13.5R22 toyo open country m/t's...

well, i couldnt get the pic to upload, but if anyone that i sent it to last night has it and can add it to this thread, that would be awesome. I think i gave it to goodtimes and rckc1mbr.

I know he has done a ton of work inside the fenders, grinding, cutting, tubbing and hollowing them out. He has been toying with the idea of having custom fiberglass outer fenders made to replace the stock plastic ones, as he has completely re-shaped every fender.

Believe it or not, there is actually no rubbing at all when driven on paved roads. He is building up a tacoma for his new wheelin ride with some crazy 10" suspension lift...i dont really know...??...

In other words it rubs like crazy if the suspension compresses at all and I bet it rubs like mad while turning

That is one wild looking rig. Can't say I have ever seen anything like that before.

Awesome work!

What was wrong the original paint?

Can someone direct me to the pot of gold that he is using to put into his 4runner?

I hope he is not using that 10 inch Whiplash lift for a tacoma. That is unless he is planning on building a show truck. It is pure junk.

PistonSlap --
Nothing was wrong with the original paint other than the fact that those trim pieces were trashed during an offroading incident, and in need of repainting/refinishing. He just has to do a little touch up here and there, and then it'll be complete.

Other guys --
It really doesn't rub that much on road, even when turning ... I say that because he was running 35s previously, and had done a lot of trimming of the fenders and the pinch weld is completely gone. I don't think he's going to go any higher .. this is going to be mainly a street-rig after this because of all the mods he's done and his not wanting to trash it or beat it up too badly. The Tacoma will be his off-roading rig and I highly doubt that he'll use a crappy lift to get 10" ... if he goes through with the 10" lift, I am sure it will involve at least some parts he'll be fabbing himself.

As for the rest of NE, we'll be getting things going here pretty soon. When I get all the pics, I'll be finishing up the site, and things will be in full production by September 1st at the latest ... but probably way sooner than that in actuality.

Thanks for posting that pic, Will!

Well, old Billy has finally made it back. Thanks for the compliments regarding my irrational creation/depiction of a 4th gen. I took the sucker out wheeling tonight, and the tires definitely stuff right into the fenders, but turning and normal use is not a problem at all. I will post pics of the cutting, trimming, and grinding when I get a break. I am putting larger and longer studs on tomorrow to allow me to add 1/4" wheel spacers to get the tires away from the upper arms, and get more thread onto a larger stud as well. Then I need a brake upgrade badly, but that is gonna have to wait a while as I currently have $6 in my pocket and a bounced check, lol...hope you all had a good weekend.

You actually wouldnt be able to look it up, so I will help ya...

Wheels: $19+$5.99 more for the powdercoating, so a grand total of $24.99 a wheel

Tires: $22, $3.47 for shipping, $1.67 for no siping, and $1.87 for 1 armor all wipe per tire...lets see, that totals...sorry had to go borrow the neighbors calculator(golden even)...$29.01 per tire if my math is correct.

If you find prices online or elsewhere, which you wont, just assume I paid 4x the retail cause NE is so loaded...yeah.

Thanks Lee, I will keep ya'll posted on the swap to larger wheel studs that is taking place right now.

Call me stupid, but I don't get it? Are you getting corporate sponsors to build up your rig?

I have downey coils, revtek spacers, and some NE trim packers in the rear to keep the sag away. After the 37's went on, I measure 40.5" from ground to fender up front and 42.5" in the rear. The rear has been one of the biggest challenges, but I am re-building my sub box for the third and final time here very soon. Here is a quick stereo breakdown:

JL XR 3 way's in the front doors
mtx 6000 series 8" subs in every door
mtx 1" soft dome tweets in every door
JL XR tweets in every door
RF 10" HE2's under each front seat
JL XR 6.5" 2 way compents in rear doors
2 JL 13.5W7's in the rear
2 MTX 12" 9500s in the rear
2 batcap 400's
2 batcap 800's
180 amp alt.
1 yellow top, one red top, one stinger 1000 something in the rear, all in parallel
100'+ of 0' guage
2 mtx 1501's
2 mtx 942's
2 mtx 684's
3 channel line driver
2 3 farad stinger caps
50 square yards of dynomat
Pioneer 7400mp(temorary fix as the AVIC went out, nice deck regardless, IMHO)

I think that does it.

We maxxed out at 167.8 about a month ago, and have been re-tuning and re-building ever since.

The wheels and tires...I hate posting this kind of stuff, but here is the DL. I get all my tires and wheels at cost thru a buddy, and have helped many others with this too if anyone wants to save some $$.

22x9.5" Helo Hawks: $340 a wheel + $150 per for the p-coating = $490 a wheel

Toyo Open Country M/T's: $490 a tire, been waiting over a month for them, one of the first set of the 37x13.5R22's in the states. Sold my 325/50R22's to a buddy for a g, so the new ones only cost me $900 and some change for the swap.

I guess in the end it would add up to 2g's for tires and 2g's for wheels. I did not get a great deal on the tires, but did save a good amount on the wheels. Well, there ya go i guess...later.

(2) 10's and (2) 12's ? Why? You're getting 167's w/ what kind of meter? And why aren't you competing in IASAC or dbDrag if you're making those kind of #'s? Hmm?
