Speedometer Problem

Hi, the speedometer of my 1992 4Runner some times work, but most of the time do not work.

I will apreciate if some one tell me the problem.

Also please tell me how the Shift Lock Override works, and how to active it.

Regards,

Renato

Hi Renato, I replied to your email.

I'm not sure if yours is an electronic speedo or a mechanical one. Mine is electronic and the vehicle speed sensor is located on the passenger side (US 4runners) of the transfer case. The VSS might be your problem, as mine would be intermittant. Finally, it started affecting the auto tranny and wouldn't shift out of 1st gear.

Good luck.
