Alright guys, I'm almost ready to commit to the Speedhut gauges. First, I've got one more question for you. While I was at home for Thanksgiving, I got bored and pulled out the gauge panel to look at the different size bulbs and the configuration. The gear shift indicator on the instrument panel is lit by an ordinary bulb, which projects through a black plastic film which is tinted green, yellow, etc around the respective gear. I can't think of any way to duplicate this thing and make the colors blue, so the Speedhut gauges look like the best option if they include this piece. I know the Speedhut units will have the Speedometer, RPM Dial, etc, but what about the gear shift and the "info" panel (high beams, ECT ON, etc) that are on the bottom of the instrument panel? It seems pointless to me to have blue indiglo gauges if there is a big green sqaure illuminated while in Drive. Thanks guys. Later.

Matt

Sorry Matt. That stays the same. I have regular indiglos and the little green shift indicator doesn't bother me one bit. Get over it and order....

I tried to mod that panel when I made my blue turn sigs...disasterous. It looks OK as my deck display has green and blues in it. OK, just had a thought. My friend made some decals for my guitars using decal paper he printed on using his computers printer. Very professional. This panel is just a strip of silkscreened plastic. If someone could get a good scan of it, make a decal and put it on a piece of blue plastic, it could work.

Why wait I just went on eBay and got me this kit, but lately I've see reverse glow faces for 99-02 4runners too. If I didn'a already have this one I would get the other. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2444991996

One more for ya'll. Will the Speedhut gauges have a cutout for the digital odometer like I have on my 3rd gen and if so, will it still be illuminated green?

Matt:

Have you been to the Speedhut site? All of your questions can be answered there. Of course they have a cut out for the odo and yes the odo will be the same as it came from the mother land. The speedhut site has pics and descriptions on what you get and what they look like.

I don't care for those on Ebay. Those are "Halo" reverse gauges and I don't think they look as good.

They are also not for 01-02's. They are may be for 99-00, but the indicators are all different.

Matt, just bite the bullet and buy it. It's the best (and currently only) option out there for 01-02s and are a very high quality. Nobody will have all those extra pieces even if someone else puts the kit out later. We only need one more order, and that's you. Be a man!!

Merry Christmas dudes! Tooling has begun! I just placed the order for number twenty. Thanks for answering my questions. I hope to find a way to replicate the shift indicator and have it blue also. I'm gonna start working on it when I get some time. Later.

Hey! What happened to our 20th order? I just looked at the speedhut site to check on the tooling time and it now says we only have 19 orders? Anyone cancel?

What in god's name happened? I guess someone cancelled on us. Who is the guilty party?

What Speedhut is probably doing before they start making them, they verify that all the people that ordered them still want them. That maybe what is going on. It's been soooo "F"ing long that some people probably sold their 4 Runners and don't need them. Just my thoughts.

So what, they stopped tooling altogether? That's rediculous. If you've already started it, why stop just because one backed out.

I emailed speedhut to try to find out what happened. I'll post as soon as I have a response. I also put a link to this thread in the email to show them how eager we are to have these.
