Sonoran Steel 7.2

Just noticed Sonoran Steel has a new version of their lift kits out. Now they come with 5125 billies all the way around!

I'll be ordering this kit next week

I wonder how these Bilstiens ride, are they softer/ stiffer than the Yellow Billies, or TRD'S?

I want to know how they ride too. I was seriously considering the SS 7.1 so I went to the website and I noticed that the shocks are different now. Please keep us updated. Thanks.

Yeah after seeing the 7.1 on your truck with the extra 10mm spacer in the rear I decided to do it the same way. About ordered it last month, but put it on hold. Glad I did now, I can't wait!

I'll let everyone know how it rides. I have the PP lift and billies now, should be smoother

Anybody want to buy the PP lift springs and billies with 20K on them?

I'm very interested in knowing how this rides. It was hard enough choosing between the 1.1 and 7.1 with different shock options. Now I've got the 1.2 and 7.2 to choose from I'll be checking back frequently

How does it ride? You guys are killing me! The same or better of course or I would not have made the change. The ride is the same on the road and it is a more advanced shock in the dirt, like the Tokico Blue Shocks, but not so ridiculously expensive. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the older kits, I had the opportunity to get rid of the top out spacer and studs for good, and make an even simpler assembly. So change was more a clean up to simplify things further and add some adjust ability if you wanted it.

This was a very big commitment on out part, these shocks are custom made just for us, it was a huge amount of money to lay down, but the benefits are well worth it.

These are the same shocks, the Bilstein 5125 that we run on all the Straight axle truck we build. Same shock on my rock buggy, same shocks All-Pro, Marlin and Trail Gear supply with their straight axle conversion kits.

You can not buy the shocks, they were made just for us and they are only sold with the lift kits. The exception would be if you bought System 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 3.0, 7.0 or 7.1 in the past and I can look you up in the records, you can buy these shocks when your original set wears out, which will not be any time soon.

The 5125 or 5150 have nothing what so ever in common with the Yellow shocks. Don't even put them in the same thought, yes it is a massive night and day difference.

Nothing what so ever in common, I am sure the Bilstein website will give you most information.

Man, I haven't even had a chance to install my 1.1 yet and there's already a 1.2? Looks sweet.

well after 70k miles on my original OME kit, the shocks and springs are not what they used to be... perhaps its time to look into one of these kits as they do appear to be the only ones so thought out and complete. now to just figure out which kit i need....

oh, and find a spare grand laying around the house

The lower coil seat is adjustable using a snap ring on the body of the shock.

Sure looks like it. The higher price should be for the 2001-2002 4Runners due to the extra rear brake line.
