at least that's what happens at 75 MPH

i was driving down the 405 on friday when all of a sudden a paint bucket (a little bigger than the one in the picture) comes rolling toward me. i didn't have time to avoid it, so i went right over it. i heard a couple louds bangs and stopped shortly after to check it out. it bent up the side of my skid plate, no other apparent damage.

but about that skid plate. it's the stock one, and quite frankly, i like it. would it be possible to bend it back into place? or if not, any suggestions on what to replace it with. i like the white or chrome look, but i'm open to anything.

I guess you could always try bending it, and if that doesn't work, go buy yourself a new one since you like them.

Ah, I didn't realize it was really expensive. Well, in that case, I guess you need to decide how much you really like it!

yeah it's kinda expensive and it's super small too......well length wise that is, i thought it was longer before,

Yeah, you can bend it back into shape. Just take your time with a dead blow hammer with a rag taped over the end.

Looks like most of it could be "re-formed" by the ol' NASCAR fender pull. Just use enough stuff to protect the surface so that you don't scar up too much paint or whatever it is on those.

On my old OEM skids, I just took a BFH to it and let it go when it got too mangled.

Or you could just buy one of mine and chrome it .

yeah, i'll just try to bend it back to shape.
i checked around, and the factory skid plate is around $500, i'm not down for paying that.
