Sweet rig! How have the 883's been so far? How much lift did they give you in the beginning versus now. How about ride quality? I'm trying to match LC's in the rear and heard that 882's were prone to sagging, so 883's might be the way to go.

The 883s are great and as I said in the write up they are a fantastic compliment to the rear lc lift. between the sagging 882s and the new 883s i gained an extra 1.5". The coil itself is a tad shorter than the 882, but has a heavier wire diameter which alleviates some of the constant, bearing stress the added weight of a winch bumper causes. I have settled about .2" over 3 weeks but the design of the 883 will, in theory, reduce the amount of sag over time significantly

ride quality is a lot more comfortable than the 882s. feels perfect in my opinion...not too stiff, not to soft

i don't know if doug is listing these yet on his site so if you do decide to go this route shoot me a pm and i'll give him a call on pricing and whatnot

oh and no one by chance has a spare thule load bar laying around do they? i want to fabricate a lightbar to fix onto the front of my rack
I once got a screaming deal on a roof rack at Play It Again Sports. I'd try the used equipment shops or pawn shops - you might just find what you need for a good price.

i finally came up with a design for the netting. i'm pretty much going to make some heavy duty curtain rods to go the length of the window both top and bottom. then thread some hoops on the perimeter of the netting. i'm going to drill a hole through each ends of the rods and secure the netting by pin locks.

oh, got her dirty for the first time since all this for better hahaha

i as well really dig your 4runner...nice job by the way...just out of curiousity, is it a 4 or 6 cylinder?, just curous cause mine is a 4cylinder i would like to do some similar mods.

To speak for Roor, sorry, I like the thread and I'm sure you don't mind the bump, I believe it's a V6 but don't mark me on that, I drove it only once and it had way more pickup than my 3.0.

it's a v6. i don't know how i'd be doing power wise with all the additions and a 2.7. you might want to think about making some engine upgrades before adding too much stuff

yeah so after that spot i broke my driver side cv joint, i was just thinking the other day on how i was way overdue for a breakage hahaha

mtr spare because its the only full size i can get my hands on right now. eventually it will be swapped out with a 285 bfg at on another 5 spoke.

and no this is not a downside of the 883, trust me my cv's have had it coming to them after all they've been through. the 883s are shorter than 882s so it does a bit better with the angle

UPDATED! wooo! Trailer hitch/tire carrier assembly successfully modified

Been working on this for the past 4 hours and we're finally done. Scrapped the original idea of moving the existing mounting holes 3" and upgraded the crapola out of it. Modified only the holes farthest back and welded the entire assembly to the frame. I got a couple pictures off during the process but i'll get the finished product when the suns out tomorrow

i dunno man, those 883s look like they might make things pretty steep, and that spot isnt exactly "hardcore" by any means. hopefully they will sag some cause if you are blowing cvs on that what is gonna happen when you actually hit real trails, its just a thought but CVs are expensive.... my cvs are pretty much flat, and i just lower 2 at tellico with no breakage at all and that trails is hell on earth, and bud ran it too in his IFS taco with practically no CV angle and also broke nothing.... just a thought
