replace master or both cylinders for clutch?

My clutch moans/whines when it is depressed. I think it is the master that is making the noise. I was going to flush the fluid and see if that helps but I doubt it will.

Should I only replace the master cylinder or both the master and the slave while im at it?

After seaching on this topic I found some replace them in pairs even if only one is defective. The truck has 110 k miles and a new clutch. I am leaning towards replacing both of them at the same time.

does it whine as long as it's depressed? or does it just groan when you step on it and release? if it makes a lot of noise whenever it's depressed it could be the pilot bearing

i wish i would have replaced master and slave at the same time. my clutch got really wierd after my slave blew up and i replaced it, it was like i lost a bunch of pedal travel. tightening up the adjusting nut on the slave pushroad brought my pedal to about where it should be, but now it basically has no room between engaged - disengaged. hopefully replacing the master will help, as it leaks quite a bit

Only when I step on it and release.
