Wow.... You have guts bro... Looks like you have done a great job painting it... All the show cars get everything re-wrapped... Only small parts that can't be wrapped are painted...

Here is a warning!!! I am sure you are aware of this as per your prev. posts... I have seen many cars vinyl paint their interior as well as dye... Looked great at first but after awhile... The sun, dust, and wear will eventually make it look like crap... I hope you used high quality stuff...

I thought the same thing but I was watching "Unique Whips" (no flaming please) and they did the same thing when they had to re-do an interior.

They prepped the dash and spraypainted it. I was pretty shocked as they tend to do big-dollar projects but I saw it with my own eyes.

I put this project on hold right now because I'm remodeling my condo but so far the dash has held up nicely in the heat of Texas. Thats also in direct sunlight since I rarely use the sun visor...I'm lazy to remove the radar. Its dusty but thats about it. No peeling or cracking as of yet.

I just thought I'd ressurect this thread since I was the one that made it. I'm about to get the ball rolling on this again since I found a bit of free time. I kinna fell out of the car modding phase for a while and went into home improvement. But surfing yotatech has relit the spark and now I'm gonna start working on my interior again...

Looks just as good as anything Unique Whips does! Sorry, I gotta thrash those guys. Charging like 25,000 dollars to install a couple subs and rattlecan your dash to match!

Yeah I installed my custom stealth system back then for the cost of MDF and dry wall screws. Also I'd like to say that almost a year of having the dashboard painted and nothing has happened to it. Except it's a bit dusty since I haven't been wiping it down but overall nothing happened even with direct sunlight almost all the time.

Man...that's one seriously gutsy move. I hope it works.

To get my black look, I just bought some dark rubber floormats and a black steering wheel cover. Fortunatly, mine cost under $40 and only took about 1/2 hour.

Good luck!!

I believe next phase is painting door panels along with dying the carpet black. I believe at the same time I'm doing this, I'll be sound deadening the whole car too so I can kill two birds with one stone. It all sounds pretty plausible...

I will tomorow or today if I leave the library during daylight but the dash pretty much looks the same as the day I reinstalled it back into the car...

There you go. Just simple greened most of the interior and detailed the car today. Everything is like new and runs great since I put in Mobil 1 Synthetic and had a tranny flush. It sucks that my roof's clear coat is almost gone though.

I'm not. I had the pistol grip shifter on it but it wouldn't tighten on the column so after a while it just fell off after a few agressive parallel parking procedures. I'm gonna just reinstall my T-shifter back on now.

Also good news is the walmart I shop at had a clearancing of all their automotive paint...like 1.50 a can and so I bought them out of the stuff I needed. Plastic primer, filler primer, top clear coat, gunmetal, and medium red. I'm in the process of color matching my fender flares and then I'm going to start on the interior. I will post interior progress as soon as I get the ball rolling...
