Rear Wheel Screeching

Rear Wheel Screeching
Hi everyone. I need some help with a recent purchase of mine. I just bought a 2000 4Runner Limited w/ 4wd. The car has 160k miles on it and it drives great. My only issue is something that I noticed when driving it this morning on the freeway. When I accelerate hard I hear a loud screeching sound coming from the rear passenger wheel. It sounds like metal on metal. This happens in any gear as well as in reverse. I can't feel any vibration, and it doesn't affect the ride in the car at all. I have little knowledge as far as mechanics go. I will most likely post a video later, but any input is appreciated. My thoughts are brake drum/ wheel bearing? I have no idea. Thanks everyone.

Sounds like wheel bearing. Time to pull a wheel off. I suspect you may find oil all over the inner wheel and brake drum. These love to leak from seal and burn a bearing up. Take that wheel off and take a poke around.
Put up some pics if you want too.

HighLux, thanks for your response. After some investigating, I couldn't see any of the symptoms that you mentioned (weird). I took a chance with it being the muffler and had it replaced with a magnaflow.
FIXED! No more whistle/ screech. And it sounds great. Thanks again for your input.
