Rear Light problem on a 2000 SR5 Auto.

Hi there.. I have a problem with a question..
The other day.. I locked my car using my keychain and I noticed that my driver side rear light (the one under the red plastic) didnt blink on.. then when I unlocked it It didnt blink again.. I had some one look at it while I turned on the lights. that one doesnt turn on.. but when I press the breaks it works fine.. Do I need a bulb replacement? and is it someone of limited mechanical exp can do?? what part number is it? or am I looking at a short? sorry fo the long winded post.

Yes, you need a bulb. It is a 2 filament bulb. One for parking lights and one for brake lights.

its very easy to do...

most important thing... push them out toward the side of the vehicle, do not try to pull straight back...

also, glove your hand with something like a sandwich bag -- do NOT touch the bulb with your bare skin.

Isn't that only necessary for headlight bulbs and such, bulbs under high gas compression and higher wattage?

oh and about the pull sideways, not back: very important. First time I changed bulbs, I bent the bracket the taillamp clips fit through :pat:
