Rear end popped-now leaks-please helpthe newby
Hey folks,
97 Runner LTD./4:30 & locker - a couple of months ago got in a tug of war with the immovable object/rear locked-after several attempts, heard something pop in rear-end.
No noise since then, but last week found much diff. fluid on pass side rear. Pulled plug, almost full, but smells very burnt. Can't find a rear end here in central Ky.-the salvage hotline has come up empty. Any ideas on cost to rebuild??,
anything that will swap with it, and is it worth it.198+k- body ruff from hailstorm and hunting, every pc. of steel underneath is bent dented or worse. Have had a Runner since 97 & know you can't beat em off-road or for reliability.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
