Question to Tacoma Owners about Sunvisors

Hey Guys,

I have a 2002 4Runner SR5. It has a vanity mirror on the passenger side sunvisor and the standard visor on the drivers side. I went with a buddy who is looking at 2002/03 Tacoma Club cabs. I noticed that alot of the Tacomas had sunvisors with pull-out extensions. I live in south Florida and would really like to have sunvisor extensions for my 4Runner as the sun seems to always be in that spot that the visor doesn't reach. I have looked into aftermarket options but none seem to work as well as the factory extensions on the Tacomas. I asked the parts person at the dealership if sunvisors with pull out extensions are available for the 2002 4Runners. He looked it up and said that the only options are the standard visors or visors with vanity mirrors. I did not think to ask if the Tacoma sunvisors with pull out extensions would work in a 4Runner. I measured the sunvisors in my vehicle and they are roughly 16 1/4 inches long along the top and 15 3/4 inches long along the bottom. They are 5 1/2 inches wide towards the middle of the vehicle and 5 inches on the door side. My question to Tacoma owners is as follows:

What are the approximate dimensions of your sunvisor if you have the pull-out extensions?

If anyone owns both a Tacoma and 4Runner can they see if the sunvisors are compatible with each other.

I would appreciate any assistance or suggestions anyone has and as always I thank everyone in advance for their input.

I can relate

This has been a pet-peeve of my wife's until recently. One thing she did not like about riding in my Tacoma was the short sun visor

SO.... I recently installed an MP3 player, and next thing I know, I am getting one of THESE. This thing wraps around your existing visor and fastens with velcro strips (that are on the inside face, so they are not visible. It holds up great to off-road driving, and easily slides out to act as a nice, long visor extension.

I think I bought it for around $12 at K-mart.

BajaTaco,

Thanks for your suggestion but I am looking for something a little more permanent. The factory sunvisor extensions on a Tacoma are just what I am looking for but I need to know if they will fit in a 4runner.
