A question for Jay or anyone who might know about ABS

Ok so Ive been having this bad surging in my truck and cannot find it nor can the dealers. Last night I swapped my welded rear end for a non welded one, I was getting tired of the tire wear and chirping around corners. So after Its all installed I take it for a testdrive. The surging seems to have gone away mostly. I can still feel it slightly but not as much. I did notice one wheel bearing is wore out(quite a bit of slop) could this cause a surging feeling? Ive never had a bad wheelbearing give that kind of feeling before though, but anyways on to my topic, on top of the third member there is a magnet type sensor(speed control sensor) it had a lot of metal flakes attatched to it(excess slag breaking off from the stress put on the welded rear end) So I gave it a quick wipe off and installed it. Im going to pull it out and really clean it off tonight, what does this speed control sensor actually do? or how does it help with the antilock? and having metal flakes stuck too it could that cause a misreading in the sensor thus causing a surging in the truck? I dont know how this sensor works so any input is appreciated. Thanks

Sorry, we aren't ignoring you. I just don't have any experience with ABS so I don't know.

BTT... Hope you get an answer.
