I received my bushing kit a few days ago. Started the install today. I just now got all the bolts/nuts loosened...it's kinda tough but not too difficult if you have the proper tools.
I'll be finishing the job next weekend and will post pics+writeup.

Four wheel parts has the energy set for $14. I did it a few months ago when I put in the Sonoran Steel parts. Definitely an improvement. I found out I don't know everything and should probably read install directions - that center bolt that is vertical gets removed from the top. heh heh. My impact wrench didn't like the bottom 'nut' that is welded on. Oh well, it isn't welded any more. I used a rivet gun to get the old bushings out, which works like a charm. Not sure how long it would have taken otherwise. I did it in about an hour and half... 30 minutes spent on a welded nut. Yep I just admitted this on a tech board.
Steering is much tighter. I don't really see how this could "help" a warped rotor feel. That is just plain annoying, and the only thing that will correct that issue is obvious - turning rotors or installing new ones.

I had pretty badly warped rotors, and fixed them with the tundra setup. However, I still feel like there's some movement up front while braking, I'm hoping this will clear it up.

I got mine from wheelers a few months back. Took me minutes to get the thing apart but getting the old bushings out can be a bear. I could not just punch or press them out unde the vehicle so i used a screwdriver, channel lock pliers and some lube to wiggle, pry and move them out. The old rubber is stuck to the metal pretty good. ONce that is done, put new bushings in and install rack. I would defintely add a bit of grease or silicone to that middle bushing. Makes it easier to slide in for sure. You will need to get the ends snugged up before you are able to get the middle bolt in for sure!
If you are smart, you will purchase a 19mm (I think) ratcheting wrench prior to starting to make the middle bolt removal and reinstall easy.

So does the Energy Suspension kit work for the 96+ 4Runners as well? Wheelers advertises something that says "WHEELER'S INCLUDES THE 14MM BUSHING FOR 4RUNNER NOT NORMALLY FOUND IN OTHER KITS!" Is this true or are they just re-selling the energy suspension kit?

IIRC, i also had to use the extra metal sleeve (not bushing) that they included. Some or most of these kits will come with red bushings which do not have graphite, an added lubrication.

I got past the trouble with the center bushing and ran into a new problem, that big D Bushing is much thicker than the stock D bushing and makes installing the D clamp on that thing really tough. I don't know if anyone else ran into that problem but I was having a heck of a time getting the top bolt on the D bushing started so I basically forced it in and it started cross-threading...I pulled it back out and will have to go down to Toyota tomorrow and get a new bolt so I don't make things worse.
Anyone else run into trouble with that D bushing and it's top bolt? I will be giving it another try tomorrow.

The D bushing is the same size and thickness as the factory OEM bushing. Thats not the problem.
I had trouble threading the top bolt too but realized a simple solution to get it started. Keep the lower bolt and the center bolt snug-tight. And keep the big driver's side bolt slightly loose. Then start the top bolt. I spent a good 10-15 frustrating minutes untill i got it started but i never forced it. I just kept "playing" with the tightness on the other 3 bolts until it worked. Thanks, thats my plan for today, i did not have the center bolt tight when I did this, now I realize how it could help more. I also pulled off the D clamp and it was bent out slightly from who knows what so i tweaked it back to even and hope this solves it. I am going to pick up a tap for that welded nut just in case I need it although I don't think I did much damage to it.

I nned some stabilizer bar bushings as my stock ones are split so I'm ordering the kit from Wheelers' and also am adding a new set of rotors and brake pads since my stock ones warped again a while ago.
