opinions on exterior 12v outlet
Well I was walking through walmart the other day, in amazement of all the *strange* people there, and I came across an exterior weather proof 12v outlet, came with all mounting hardware and 16g wire. I was thinking of mounting it to the hitch as there are no other easily mounting areas. Should I have this on a switch inside, or just have it hot all the time? I wouldn't think people would try to steal my battery power, but then again, you never know what they would/could do with a live 12v plug.

as long as its weather proof I wouldnt see a problem with keeping it hot all the time...my trailer brake adaptor is hot pretty much all the time, at least when I hit the brakes...
Think is...what would you do with 12v extorior? I wouldnt mind having a power inverter and 120v exterior....

spotlight, 90watt inverter to run something small, air pump, small tools. good so you dont have to have cables running through windows and doors when you do have something to hook up. I forgot to mention, if someone did want to steal power, this thing is really obvious, big "12v power outlet) sticker, lol
