For the oil filter I take off the skid plate and go up from the bottom, you can just fit your arm through the steering linkage. I usually end up spilling oil which then runs down my arm and then I vow never to change my own oil again, until next time.
I know some people get to it through the front wheel well but I've never had any luck that way.

Try checking this write-up out. I did it and it seems to be the easiest way to actually gain access to the oil filter. Good luck.

3.0 filter tips
Hi, I’ve been changing my own oil on my 3.0 for many miles now! I don’t jack it up, I remove the skid plate, drain the engine first, then I take a section of news paper and fold it in half long ways, then rip about 8" off of it to shorten it. I then un-fold it about half way making a "gutter" for the oil that spills out of the filter, then I place this below the filter and on top of the axle, aim it down into the pan and loosen the filter. The oil drains out, because the sick $%*$ that designed the engine though I will mount the oil filter UP SIDE DOWN....sorry got off track...., and hits the paper gutter, runs down into the pan under the engine. This has always worked for me since the 2nd time I changed my oil YEARS ago on my truck and got it all over my arm, frame and suspension! Have fun <-3.0 engineers
