What did you do with your stock rims? I've been looking for some cheap 17-18s.

That's almost exactly what I'd want on my truck, except in gunmetal. Too bad those rims are crazy expensive.

Big Tires, small rims

To each their own I suppose but I prefer stock wheels with bigger tires. 33's on 16's is cool.

IMHO

Well, here's my 86 2wd (lifted a couple inches and a load of stuff in the bed) with KMC Stealth 17's on it.
Tires are Pirelli Scorpoin Zeros - 255/50/17.

Not exactly what you were looking for, but close

hey you selling that front skid plate?

You're lucky you caught me on this thread as it has really taken a turn for the worse.

I did, in fact, sell it a couple of months ago to Peter (ManyMods). Sorry about that. I think the dealers carry these for around $115 from what I have heard. That is probably going to be the surest option at this point. That price, if correct, is 3-4 times better than what they were going for 1 year ago.

Couldn't afford 20+ inch wheels so I figured 18's on some 285/60's is a cool medium

I like that look, those are some really nice wheels that you have there. It's more practical, because if you hit a pot hole going down the road, you don't have to buy a new rim.

Those are 20" rims. And I have to hand it to that person, they definately picked some nice ones. As much as I am opposed to huge rims, they really look good on that 4Runner. That's one of the few I've seen that I personally think look good.

First of all I like big rims on 4runners however like some people have said most of the pictures on here have just had some tasteless rims other then a couple. Another thing is the fact that everyone thinks that if you hit a speed bump then your rims will bend. The most common size tire to put on a 4Runner with 20's is a 275/45 which is a good bit of tire. Now granted if you put low profile tires on them then you may have problems. I knew a guy in high school that had a Tacoma on 20's and he still went mudding. He never bent a rim and never had any problems. Just a couple of observations on the subject.
