Exclamation

You can run nitrous in your truck. No more than a 50 shot, high octane gas and turn the timing down 4 degrees. Make sure you have a fresh tune-up as well. New plugs, filters, cap, rotor and wires. If you have some good skills, you can click the AFM up 1 notch to richen the mixture. All in all its the tune before the shot. I wouldn't recommend trying a 75 either. You may get away with it but why take a chance. If you did as I said, you can run 50 all day long. What you want to do is make a pass on the juice with a full throttle switch. After your run, shut the engine off and coast to the side. Pull the plugs and look to see how they are running. This would give you an inclination of wether to richen or lean out your mixture. Most of the time you need to add more fuel. Before you do all of this, read, read, read on how nitrous works. Oh and one more thing:

Best of luck. If you really want to do it, ignore these guys, figure it out, show us how, give us videos, pics, slips, that way we can all be amazed. Best of luck, and please don't blow yourself up.

heh... nah, Christian will have me off the line unless I get my tranny done.

I was just agreeing with him that a "Toyota Truck" can certainly do more than only race another "Toyota Truck" - and win.

I took it as Mark wanting me to share some of my "kills." But hey, maybe he did mean it as a little challenge .

Hey Mark, I will meet you in Northern California sometime!

Or maybe we will both get a chance to run at our respective tracks and compare time slips someday. I don't want to run mine at the track because I like my clutch, and I am sure Mark likes his 1 - 2 clutch pack.

Just as soon as...

...I am sure Mark likes his 1 - 2 clutch pack.
...that becomes a non-issue!

Why does the NES game 'Super Off-Road' come to mind when reading this thread?

Maybe a datsun?

I use to have a 1990 2wd truck with a 22r engine, and I can honestly say that there was nothing peppy about that engine. I have raced in a 96 tacoma (3.4L), and that wasn't bad. I assume that the new v8s probably can hold their own.

... but the 4 bangers? I'm sorry, but when two 22REs are racing, everybody loses.

I don't know about that - my 22R with a Weber 36/38 and headers was REAL peppy! (and it had monster tall gears in it)

Originally you said "Toyota truck" so we were simply setting you straight. That was kind of a broad statement you made.

There is a 5VZFE-powered "truck" pushing just over 300HP to the wheels on here. And that is daily-driven HP!

Generally speaking, most 22R-series motors are slow, but they definitely can be made to be quick. I have seen some in the 14's at the track.

Ive SEEN Tundras w/ N2O. :/

You can just wire a pair of Happy buttons to garage openers, and when people step into your car, they THINK you have N2O, but really, you just stealthed your garage door openers.

NOS on a 22re why
maybe NOS on a 22re turbo small shot only
as mentioned 50 hp shot

now how about administering a small shot just before the S/C hmmmmm
would need the URD upgrade at a minimum
it might work
(shaking head and waking up from daydream) ahhh back to the 22 re issue
but why? 100 hp + 50/75 shot of nos only gets you 175 hp (on paper) and does nothing to help move 3500+ lbs yes a little pep but no wheel stands or neck snapping power shifts

spend the dough on other stuff or buy a civic and nos it to death
