Everyone to their own, thats what makes our trucks so much fun, but there is NO WAY I would trust tires and wheels like that on a serious trail. Old school 70's trail doggin taught me you have to put lots of trust in your tires when you're 100 miles from the nearest piece of blacktop. Sorry guys they may look really nice but not to everyone. If I'm going to be doing any trail doggin, I want some meat tires under me, strong high sidewalls, large knobby grippers, I guess it's a generation thing! LOL BLING just rings of Rap, over driving bass you hear two miles before it arrives and rattlin windows and fenders as it drives by. Just don't do it for me, but hey, thats why they call it "customizing". I could think of some serious mods to do with the money you just shelled out to some tire dealer, hey but what ever floats your boat!

Ritzy, I don't think he is planning on taking his 4Runner w/ 22's and low pros off and into the woods on a trail...probably more of the street scene I'd think.
Buy yeah, different strokes for different folks. I see quite a few 3rd gens with 20s rolling around my town...not my cup of tea, but I'm not driving it either. They might be looking at mine thinking it's fugly

Around here putting rims on a 4Runner is the thing to do, it's rare that you see a 4Runner that is lifted. Most of the 4Runner's that are customized have 20"s or 22"s, and there are quite a few of them around. I believe I've seen at least two 2nd Gen 4Runner's that were lifted, everyone else is ridin on chrome.

Well as said to each there own.
Now i think there is a place for everything. Do i like 22"s on a 4runner, not really but i can admire them on someone elses knowing that is what they like and they love there truck in there own way.

I think bling on full size truck/SUV such as Escalade, H2, Armada looks better than bling on a 4Runner IMO.
Bigger rims seem to be more balanced on big beefy vehicles. 4Runner is a mid-sized SUV, too small for large rims IMO, it's almost like taking a set of blings from a Crysler 300 or Dodge Charger and putting them on a Camry. But hey, I've seen ppl puting them on Sentras. Besides, it's one's car and money, one can do whatever they want with them.

I've seen 22's on 4runners and liked it..and seems rims on other 4runners and thought it looks like crap. Just depends on the wheel design and the color of the 4runner for me (for some reason..).
I like the look of those 18's on that Tacoma too.. but I think the big MT's help it out a lot.
I seen a double cab Tacoma (01-04) here today with rims on it / no lift and thought it looks like crap.
But as said before.. to each their own! I wouldn't say I'd never put 18's on my 14runner.. but only if I was running around a 35" tire. :0 I'd never put 22's unless I had an offroad set of tires/wheels for when I offroad.
