need tech help

alright guys, the input shaft bearing and clutch are going out on the 83, and it seems to get slower every day (just to me). i have a celica supra with the 5mge in it, and an auto trans. i know the engine bay is not long enough for the 5mge, but i can work around that. here's the big question:

Can i put the supra auto trans in front of my gear-driven t-case?

i know i will be going from stick to auto , but it would be cheaper than rebuilding the stock and getting a new clutch. will this work.

I don't think it will work because there is no way to bolt the the T-case to the rear of the tranny. 4 and 5 speed trannys go for pretty cheap though, just check in the classifieds here, over at www.4x4wire.com, and www.pirate4x4.com .

i know i can get another trans, but i could also just rebuild mine. the auto behind the 5mge has just been rebuilt, and it looked like the same auto that backs the 22re in auto runners and trucks. anyway, thanx.
