Nate's Exhaust Thread: Magnaflow

UPS man treated me today. I ordered this Magnaflow off eBay from Performance-Peddler with a best offer of $68.00 with Free Shipping on Monday. I got it today. One of them "Holy, Moly, Woly" fast shipping experiences. Anyways, I got some pics and I will update this thread once it goes on with my new cat-back exhaust next week. I'll get some clips too.

It's a 2.5" in, 2.25" dual out. I'll be running a 2.5" pipe into and out of the high-flow cat and 2.5" into the muffler with 2.25" out. I have researched and been told that thanks to the high-flow cat, the backpressure will be fine for 2.5" pipe.

I think it will sound very deep for 2 reasons:
1) The 2.5" pipe for about 1/3 of setup.
2) The high-flow cat.

UPS Heaven:

Posing Again:

One of them female doctor shots for a muffler ...

I have the tailpipes on now. It is quiter than the video now, but better tone. I'll get one from the outside today.

Warm Start. Its sooo deep.

My brother driving it...it sounds louder on film than what it really is. It is deeper and mellower in person. I've had it for about 5 days so the packing hasn't quite set in like Elton's has. According to him, when it does set in, it gets deeper!!!

How my 4Runner currently sits...

Tips...Stainless!

Rear shot.

Muffler...

Cat and 2.5" piping...

Twin tails...

Thanks for being patient. If their is a specific picture you would like me to take or a video you would like me to maje, don't hesitate to ask...

I couldn't bring myself to pay extra for the shiny crap when noone is gonna see it. I think it looks great in the satin finish.

Well, I made a 4 minute clip, but I'm having trouble uploading it.

Anyways, I'm getting my tailpipes on today, as of now I have two 10" 2.25" pipes out back. Will it sound ricier with tailpipes or will it not affect the tone at all? I'm hoping my backpressure will be okay. I've gained HP in the upper end, I can definately feel it.

The tone is incredible! Super deep...very throaty. You can't make a V6 sound like a V8, but it's close! It is deeper than the Vortex from 3K and higher on the tach. The Vortex is particially chambered anf free-flow. You get a more agressive gargle sound with the Vortex, but a much smoother sound with the Magnaflow. I like it better than the Vortex.

I'll try to get that clip uploaded. Anybody know anywhere else to upload it besides Youtube or Photobucket?

Very nice...i too have an 18"er, hehe. 2.25" in and 2.25" out, single in and out. I love how it sounds but not as deep as yours. For some reason it doesnt sound as good in the cab since i sold my lid today.

Keep in mind I have the high-flow Magnaflow Cat, and 2.5" piping for 1/3 of the setup. Plus, this video was with no tailpipes. However, the depth is the same just not as loud.

Well, i had a magnaflow on my old 92 years back, and it was off in months. The novelty of always hearing the exhaust just made me go nuts. Personally I do not like the magnaflow sound. Though yours sounds more muffled, they have that annoying fartiness sound to it. But whatever floats yer boat. Is it stainless?
