My trailer light update..again!

Hi all,
Hope everyone had a good wkend.
Last week I took my '00 4Runner in for a timing belt, water pump, some brake work and alignment. While in there I had them replace the trailer hitch converter box deal. Cost about $90 so I didn't think it was too bad.
Went to move my SeaDoo today and noticed the turnsignals were working but swapped when flashing on the trailer! I swapped and spliced the turnsignal wires on the harness coming from the truck and it fixed it!
I also noticed that when I turn my headlights on...it doesn't light up the trailer lights. Everything else works tho...should I have lights on on the trailer when I have headlights on?

Thanks,
Mike

Was just thinking maybe my trailer has bulbs in it w/only 1 filment or the filments for the running lights are burnt out.

I know I could have saved some $$ by doing it myself but I figured since it was at the dealer it would save me the time of messing with it myself.
Was kinda surprise I still needed to "mod" it to get the t/ss to flash on the correct sides!

I checked a few mins ago (don't have my trailer with me now...) with a volt meter and I am getting on/off 11+V on the green and yellow wires coming from the harness (I am pretty sure those are the colors for the t/ss) and the brown wire with my headlights on is giving me a solid 11+V....so I am pretty sure I am getting the power from the harness to the trailer for the running lights. I'm guessing it has something to do w/the bulbs in the trailer.
