haha, thankd for the compliments guys! im not too worried about rolling this truck. that was the last time thats happening. from what i was told i went skidded into a ditch, hit a rock wall with the front drivers side of the truck and then it flipped. i really dont know what happened. theres a good chunk of that night i have no memory of.

did a little bit more to the truck today. since ive been cruising around without shocks in the back, ive been getting kinda irritated at how bouncy the ride has been. i havent gotten around to ordering the ES3100s for the rear so i got busy fabbing up a shock hoop for the rear and welding it to my frame. then i went and cut some steel for my upper and lower shock mount tabs. heres some pics.

sch. 40 tubing, welded straight to the frame

passenger side

drivers side

welds are kinda ugly where i had a hard time reaching, but i got good penetration and trust, its SOLID!

started with 8 tabs, 1/8''thk, 2.5'' width, cut at 3'' length

i dont have access to a band saw or a torch so it was all done by hand. cut @ 45deg. with the cutoff wheel and rounded off with the grinding stone.

all 8 tabs done. gonna drill out the 3/4'' eyes tomorrow, pick up the mounting hardware, and bolt up my old shocks for the time being. when i get the pieces on the shocks, ill tack them in place, double checking my measurements as we go, and then running a good bead when they are both square and even. should be fun

thanks for the compliment but 37s is waaaay too big!! haha. i think the biggest imma do is 35x12.5 on 15x12s. that is, unless, i go with the 22x14s idea that the rest of the members seem to love

finished up the shock mounts today! here are some more pics!

and then decided to polish wheels

fun times today!

Great looking truck.

I'm going to agree with big tires over big wheels.

Love those wheels btw, what kinda polish did you use?

thanks, 15x10 Mickey Thompson Classic IIs wrapped in 33x12.5 BFG All Terrains im on the hunt for some 15x12s now!!!

i started by cleaning the brake dust and road grime off the wheels with simple green and #000 steel wool. leaves them with a dull finish but gets the job done.

then i followed by using regular ol mothers mag and aluminum polish on some #0000 steel wool to polish out and smooth out the surface.

that is what you see in the picture. for kicks and giggles i polished a spot on the wheel with a microfiber cloth and more mothers, there is a very slight difference in the shine. it was getting kinda late and the sun was going down so i didnt get to do all the wheels with the microfiber cloth.

ive been looking at picking up some gords or adams polish, but i have yet to find a local vendor cause my cheap ass doesnt want to pay for shipping

subs up drivers side, port rear. that 151 video was a modified crx box.

i think the new one is tuned to 30 so he is forcing the resonant freq. lower and just throwing power at the subs. btw, here is a little video i shot with my phone... doesnt really give you the full effect though. sometimes its hard to even breathe full tilt!

so i went and bought new u joints for the rear driveshaft, part number 285 from your local o'reilly or napa, went to get them installed because i was having difficulty using the hammer and socket method... come to find out that they are hundredths of an inch too large and ended up ruining my ears on the driveshaft and cardan joint. long story short, two days after i expected to get my truck back on the road, i ended up buying a used driveshaft from a scrap yard. moral of the story: trust your gut instinct. when it wasnt going in easily, i wanted to measure the bearing and the hole, to make sure its the correct size, i didnt and ended up paying $200 instead of $60 in parts oh well, its back on the road
