ok went back to radio shak .. they didn't have anything smaller then 16 .. so I went to Home Depot (I love Home Depot) and they had 18, 14, etc .. not 16. So I got the 14. 15 ft of red, 15 ft of black. I also picked up a soldering kit. I've never soldered anything before I figure this would be a good time to get some practice in. I also got some of that shrink wrap. So I'm going to go start on this now. thaks guys.

Central is telling me that LF was redesigning the lamps so that the breather is not necessary anymore, but that they would call them up in the morning to confirm. How do I tell if I have the old style or the redesigned style?

Theres no marking on the wires.

The bulbs are standard 100w bulbs and not polarity sensitive. If they were, and the wire colors were the same, then a lot of folks would be having trouble since there's no way to tell which should be grounded.
Side question... George, where'd you get you shackle hangers from? Are they Schaefers?

ok I got one light wired up .. and it works great. The wires on my foglamps are 20 gauge, no way are they bigger then that. So I basically just wraped them around the 14 gauge store wire and soldered it. Not pretty, but hey it works.
Thanks guys

That's good to know. Glad you're having fun installing them. Don't forget the PICS .
I made the shackle hangers off of Steve's design. It's pretty much free since I used scrap metal from the metal shop onboard the ship. I also had a chance to practice welding even though these were welded on by one of my guys . He is a certified welder in the Navy and civilian world.
My next project would be a panhard drop in anticipation of lifting my rig in the near future .

I'd suggest taking a shot of the lot dark, then with just headlights, then just with the LF-170's, then with both.
If you need hosting, I'd be happy to do it for you again.
