Much thanks to this forum and it's contributors. As a die-hard Jeep fan I went out this week to replace my tired '88 Cherokee. Looked at many. A dealer convinced me to try a 4Runner...I loved it, but was wary of what I considered high miles (174K kilos). Lurked on this group, found TONS of info about the 4Runner and the V6. About 8 hours ago I brought home a '91 SR5 V6 4Runner...paid 5000 CANADIAN, about 3500 REAL dollars! Great vehicle, fantastic shape...10/10 in and out. PLUS...ALL the service records from the day it left the dealership! Every oil change, the 02 sensor, pinion gear gasket, fuel filter, etc. Before I bought it I had the local dealer check the VIN...never had the head gasket done...yet.
I just love this truck...my very first vehicle was a 72 Corrolla...saw it lasy week. I think it has a bazillion miles on it now!
NEVER would have bought it without the insight from this group. Thanks to all who contribute! Guess I'm not really a Jeep fan after all. The dealer was run...4Runners have got it ALL over Jeep!

Sweet, a 2-door! I want to know stuff about the 2-door! Is it as long as a 4wd? Is it lighter? You have an auto, is it slow as heck? How much rear passenger room is there? What kind of cargo area?

You have a rare one there.
I have only seen a few in WA. state, and they are always white.

Hard to believe, but both the 2 & 4 door share the same wheel base and length.

It's probably done by using bigger doors on the 2 door model much like the '89 to '95 trucks.
Our 4 door models have smaller shorter doors on them.

So, it's lighter, by about 2 cases of beer so you don't really notice it. as for performance it's OK...same powerband at 3000 rpm.
Had a choice between a 2dr and 4dr...didn't realize the 2 was so rare, except for not seeing may pics of one on line.
Over all....I'm very pleased with it. Just going through all the service receipts right now. The previous owner was a freak when it came to keeping all the bills. I'm sure I could find mine from my Cherokee, if I ever clean out the glove box that is!

The two doors aren't rare here in Vancouver. There is a lt of them around. I know of four or five for sale right now. Sweet looking truck though. Good buy. So how far north of the 7 are ya. I went to school in Ottawa. Loved Ontario and thinkin of movin back.
