Looking for info on Locking hubs & Lift kits
Hi all, I'm new to the yotatech forum, cool stuff here.
Just bought a 1998 Tacoma (4x4, TRD, Limited ed) to trade up on my old 1988 Toyota p/u 4x4.
I want to lift my new Tacoma about an inch or two but have heard that this could cause problems with the CV joints, would installing manual locking hubs be a prudent step in avoiding future problems?? Or have any other benefits I should consider for this truck??
Any suggestion about good lift kit brands would be appreciated too!
Thanks
David

Welcome, David. Do a quick search on "Revtek" and you'll find what you're looking for. Several members use their lifts, and I never heard anything bad about them. You'll find the info you need on the cv's as well.

Also try searching for the "tundra lift" Typically anything below 2.5 inchs will not do much harm to the cvs. A manual locking hub kit in my opninion is a waste of money unless your doing it for a full time locker up front.

Not trying to flame
But only will it save you a couple of mpg, but it will also save wear and tear on the drive train, Get them if you can. Not sure what they cost though.
