corrected, fogs/headlights etc.

Ok just wanted to share and maybe save you all a buck, OK OK and yes boast a little on the lighting mod I have done.

First word in lighting Daniel Stern

Tell Daniel, Chuck D. with the Toyota Truck from sent you:

http://lighting.mbz.org/products/products.html

I have these fogs (blows them all away):

Marchal Charlie (Series 950):
Yellow fog beam, black housing with chrome bezel: $119/ea
Price includes durable stone shield cover.

And I have these (even better than Euro Hellas):

CIBIE headlamps
200mm x 142mm (75/8" x 5.5")Hr high/low beam with internal parking light: $49/ea
I use the internal parking light AKA city lights as a daytime running lamp that I can turn or off at will.

Daniel has a PVC "2 liter coke bottle" like material covers for the headlights and with a slight mod, cutting of the bottom strip they can fit the fogs too, you see these fogs are extra large. There made by Focus, like $10 or so way better and does not interrupt the beam pattern than protective wire grills, and "stoneguard"
http://www.stoneguard.com/sgcontent/what_sgl.asp
The film you glue on...Don’t get me started, one thing is heat cracks, and yellowing....need I say more?

Rear Fog by Hella (Bought it from Daniel but you can see it here)
http://catalog.com/susq/hella/rearfog.htm
81101
2 1/2"h x 5 7/8"w x 3 1/4"d and 3 1/4" from mounting surface to top of lamp, I have 3492 euro bulbs in it SEE Bulbs below...

I am not a PIAA fan but have their 4040 back up lamp, have been good over the years and very bright!
See: http://www.piaa.com/displayLamp.php3?inc=4040.html I also have a wire guard over this one, can not seem to find another kind and the wire mesh does not interrupt the beam on a flood light style anyway so...
Rexguard-201-784-8848, had for most PIAAs even made them for the eyeball shaped 959s too, went out of business a year or so ago but the new owner has some limited stock, but not very helpful, a little rough and gruff, and this is a Lady...

Side turn signal indicators
Mounted Lucas L734 SIDE REPEATER LAMP, Chrome Base, one center hole and two small mounting screws, easy like a lock, keeps the honest people honest, this jerks still cut you off, and wont let you over but they help with the honest drivers. Question, when did using your turn signals in urban areas become a sign of weakness? If I signal to get over folks speed up to close the gap, I am doing 70, and my tailpipe does not smoke so I don’t get it??
I got it here
http://www.s-v-c.co.uk/SVCMORELIGHTS.HTM
But you can probably get through Daniel now

I also added a 1995 Toyota stock painted to match 3rd brake light.

All have heavy duty relays and oversized wire, and a Mechman 150 amp alternator hoofs direct to batt pos and neg and hooks into the wiring harness, this is unique...
www.mechman.com
Tell Dennis "CJ" from OC Fire sent you great guy to work with.

Used the stock cutout fitting Cole Hersee switches to run them all.

And for bulbs...
No blue bulbs, no PIAA bulbs, headlights have Narva (good German engineering!) clear 100/130 bulbs, no science behind that blue stuff and as for the PIAA "55 watts = 85 output" please...

Per a Daniel recommendation...

This is for a 92 truck

if you use a 1156 for back ups and turns (some don’t, 4 runners use a 921 I think for B/U, that is I think) geeze a friend of mine got beat up at YotaTech’s for this, even the moderators nailed him, saying he was lying as the guy put it clearly “use 3497 for B/U this would be a direct replacement for the trucks 1156 back up bulb"
They nailed him!! As the 4Runner does not use the 1156 so they tried to put the 3497 into a 921 hole and called him a liar, I mean if you don’t use an 1156...then this would not work...duh

STATEMENT ABOVE IS FALSE. THIS USER IS THE PERSON REFERRED TOO.
HE SIGNED UP UNDER A BOGUS NAME HERE AFTER BEING BANNED FOR SPAMMING ALL THE FORUMS HERE WITH SWEARING.

Correct. Note 3496 and 3497 are not Euro, they're Japanese. Hondas use them.
But if you use an 1156 use a direct fit 3497
Or I am told even better backup light replacement for 1156 is 796. 35W halogen, only 7W more than stock 1156 (27W) but WAY more light
See:
796: 60 candlepower 35 watts
3497: 45 candlepower 27 watts
1156: 32 candlepower 27wattts

If you use an 1157 for Brakes and running use a direct fit 3496

3496: 43/4 candlepower 27/8 watts
1157: 32/3 candlepower 27/8 watts
2057: 32/2 candlepower 27/8 watts

For a 194 commonly used for license plates use a 2825
Or for amber use 2827*
My dome is a 3022 no euro for this
My 3rd brake light is a 921 no euro
My SR5 duel maps are 3775 no euro

You get a major candlepower improvement for not much bucks and no real noticeable heat difference, no noticeable wattage difference, no lifespan difference, so no after market “super halogen” like damage to stock housings.
I did a few other tricks like the silver paint on the B/u dividers on http://www.4x4wire.com/toyota/minutemods/tail_lights/
Page and the side marker lights into turn signals on Daniels page: (see or for amber use 2827 I got from Volvo dealer) http://lighting.mbz.org/tech/markerf...rkerflash.html
and/or: http://www.kersur.net/~btillman/bob/...w/side_marker/

I like it better than the one where you replace the 194 with a 1157 http://4crawler.cruiserpages.com/4x4...nSignal.shtml,

By the by nice site guys...and good job on all you have done there!

Good solid info...thanks to all!

So enjoy and keep on keeping on

Got my Hella rear fog from Daniel Stern but for

More Hella etc. see these guys:

http://catalog.com/susq/hella/clr01.htm

Enjoy
