If I could find a replacement, yes. Toyota dealerships have made keeping up on the service a nightmare.

I bought it back in 03 from Toyota of Dallas. I have since been to Toyota of Richardson (ugh), and Toyota of Plano. The best of these was Toyota of Plano, but man, none of these are anything close to the dealerships that we've been to for the other cars in the family, or for my friends. If it weren't for that, Toyota would be ideal. Unfortunately, the "customer service" aspect is one of the most important things in owning a vehicle because you should be able to trust the dealership to at least know what they are doing, and to take care of your vehicle.

Anyway, msw, I know you'll find something nice ... I see Toyotas for sale all over around here ... in fact, in the block behind me, there is an FJ40 for sale.

you locals back off! haha jk...
Negatives-
1.I am barely fluent with a stick..i DD'd (sort of) one night in a stick explorer and didnt stall it or mash gears, and im confident the learning curve will be short for me...
2. No Locker...which I guess I cant complain about too much given my budget and coming from 2wd...
3. Doesnt that look kinda low for a 4wd????
i like it. seems like a pretty good deal too. it does look kinda low, maybe bc of the running boards, or maybe it came with the small tires (smaller than 265, i dont remember what they were)

yeah, msw, the ebay thing sounds pretty good ... and if the price is right, you can always upgrade things like tires and locker later on. (it's also not too hard to learn the stick)

Tacoma Dude -- no worries. I understand how sometime it is hard to determine a persons tone and intentions over the internet. In retrospect, I can see how you would take my comments negatively. Sincerely, I'm just happy for MSW that they caught one (both?) of the guys and it looks like they will have the ability and means to make reparations.

Hey MSW0085, of course I don't mind! I actually had to go back to the thread I remember posting that in to remember the context of why I said it and damn, I had a good laugh too. But you gotta admit - it probably WAS a dumb broad who made silly rules like that. I'm willing to bet Glendale's ticket $$$ must go to the town so they gotta figure out some idiotic way to make their bonus cheques.

i forgot the thread too, i just remember thinking it was rediculous and typical of most laws...that being said- im a big advocate of street racing and accident scene fleeing laws.

no idea about the moms physical well being. the other two were released that nite. she was in stable condition as of august 8...
the hispanic family are had no drivers license or insurance, so im sure a lawsuit is pending...
I got the police report *finally* yesterday, and i am the only driver that was not issued a ticket...
The two at fault drivers both have insurance.

If you go after damages, just go after time off of work and money lost to recoup your gains. But you should be in contact with the Hispanic family since you prob are the main witness. I hope the mother will be ok.

I just read this thread for the first time. MSW, I cannot believe you walked away from that carnage. Glad you are OK.

If you can sue, do it and don't hold back. (the racers, not the T-Bone-ee) IMO, holding back on a lawsuit is condoning this heinous act, not an act of compassion. Compassion is for the innocent. What if you had been severely injured? What about the mental trauma? I was in a bad accident once, long ago. The mind can recreate the sound of crunching metal with amazing realizm. I've woken up more than once to sound of metal on metal.

The reason I quoted this ridiculous statement above was to point out that there are people of the mindset that some street racing is OK. It's NOT OK to race on the street period. They have not changed the laws to say it's OK - it's still reckless driving. Thinking it is OK, let alone posting about it, is disgraceful and careless.
