It looks tough, but I am curious about how it might block air flow and cause over heating problems. Also, how hard would it be to remove because I think you would have to take it off every time you change your oil?

Ease of removal, dunno, we have not done the final mounting yet, but it will be seven fasteners.
Yes, you would have to take it off every time you change the oil. Small price to pay if you wheel late model.

Fellas, the only thing I know about 4th Gen's is what I see on Lefty's.
Lefty, I thought I shared some with you... I shall regale you with some good ones while we're bolting 'er up!
There is some kind of vent on the OEM piece, but I think the front of this one being open on the sides like it is will give it plenty of ventilation.

The vents that appear on the factory skids place airflow right on the front differential (there are even baffles on it !). That being said, the factory skids also form up and around the suspension components along with being within close proximity to the differential. With Mike's skid, the sides are completely open and there is plenty of room around the diff, so there should be plenty of airflow across the differential.
With visions of a well placed rock taking out the vent and front differential, I'd rather go for the added protection of a solid skidplate.

Install pics. Lefty needs to replace some Grade 5 crap I had hanging around with hardened Grade 8, but here it is...
Full length diff and trans protection, no exposed fasteners underneath. Perhaps I can get Lefty to post pics of his own...

Well, I promised the admin's / mod's of YT I wouldn't pimp in GP, but I would need at least 10 confirmed to build more. The sheetmetal shop that I was doing the forming at has turned ugly, they have more work than they can handle (should have bought the shop when I had the chance) so I am using another shop for my "personal" use.
10 is the magic number, pimpdaddy mode off.
It needs a hair of refinement, but I know where. I was pretty happy with it when we did the test drive, especially since there was a HS car wash happening around the corner from the house
