sell the hemi engine and transmission. use the money to get a supercharger and URD fuel kit for the 3.4L and a valve body upgrade for the transmission (about $3300 total). that will be cheaper than the expense of swapping over to a crappy dodge/chrysler V8 with a problematic slushbox in the long run. you'd maintain your toyota dependability, have about 300HP and 300ft-lb of torque, and would have some decent resale value if you ever wanted to go back to stock and sell off the goodies and then sell the runner.

lawnmower

Hey I can turn your lawn mower into a Corvette. Hell I could build you a helicopter out of your Blender. There are only 2 questions to ask when doing this how much money you want to spend and why in the world would you want to do it? Some say just to see if it can be done and with enough money and resources to throw at something there is just about nothing short of time travel and teleportation that cant be done. I think if you want a Hemi go buy a truck with a Hemi in it. My brother in law has one, real nice truck if you like that sort of thing. I think it costs Dodge probably $25,000 USD to build a Hemi truck and I bet that it would cost you close to that to build yours even with the free engine and tranny. Just my .02 cents and that is all I would invest in swapping a Hemi into my Toy

my dad dealt with late model christler and GM products when I was growing up. We went though 3 of christler and its branches vheicles all the motors blew at less than 40 thousand. Then my dad bought a 97' asto van. with a V6 truck power train. motor blew at 60,000 put a new one in ran ok for another 40k started running rough.... new trans, alt, radiator, so on and so forth. well now we have a 95' 4runner 186k (mine) 96' 4runner my dad's 121K both are in great shape. Why is that you might ask. Where not horribly gental on them. It's just there not american drivetrains. Sorry to be so sinical twards the Made in U.S.A cars but its the truth.

There in lies the problem. If it's an automatic, don't put it in there....My friend's caught on fire. yes, thats right, his Dodge automatic transmission caught fire...and it was a low miles pretty new truck and he did not abuse it, well he did the interior, but that's beside the point.
