Ignition switch problems
Well, it's going on 4wks now (I think) with the "new" 4runner. However, it's begun to have problems starting....the ever popular CLICKING Noise. I've done the usual....had the battery and alternator tested....both GOOD. I've searched the net and yotatech posts and found that bad solenoids could be the problem. Like others have experienced, I can turn the key several times and get nothing but clicks. After so many times the engine will then slowing turn over and then fire off. It all sounds like the solenoids. My question though is the posibility of it being the ignition switch. Twice now after the engine is started the starter will continue to turn over by itself. Once, while trying to start it, I turned the key to the off position and removed the key but the starter continued to turn the engine over. Could this be a switch problem? I'm going to check all my connections first but thought I'd pick some brains in the mean time. FYI '96 4runner SR5 V6 w/ 148k
Thanks
Thanks
