Hella 500 install

I am installing 4 hella 500s tmw. The directions i got from hella pretty much suck. how do i about hooking these badboys up? what wire if any do i have to tap in for power. Sorry, but im completely stupid when it comes to these things

Look in the Tech section.
I have an article in there on how to do it, and using a Toyota switch which is far better than the green one Hella supplies with the lamps.

did you connect the power through the battery?..or did u use the fuse box? Could i even use the battery? Also, approx how much extra wire would i need to buy?

Power is from the battery with an inline fuse.
The wire going to my external fuse box is only to juice the wire that energizes the relay.

This is how I have all three sets of lights hooked up to just one juice wire to the external fuse box.

Not sure on how much extra wire you need.
I just happen to have a few 50' rolls laying around of red & black.

When I was hooking up my brother's Hella 500's I couldn't get the lights to turn on going by the supplied instructions. I went to Hella's site and wired the lights using the schematic from there and they worked. Here are the instructions from Hella's site: http://www.hella.com/produktion/Hell...F/Inst_450.pdf

I also needed a ground wire coming from the switch which the writeup on here told me and is on the Hella schematic too.

Awesome! I havent installed them yet..but im gonna try to tmw. I let you know how it goes and show some pics....i fabbed my own "light bar" for the roof rack. Thanks guys
