Good shop in Northern Wash

Hey guys,

I just moved up to Bellingham. I need to get some work done....wondering if anyone knew of good shops in the area. thanks

Try evergreen automotive, does a really good job, Nice people. Fair prices too.

Call up Jeff at AutoTech. He's up on the corner of Meridian and Axton on your way out to Lynden. He does a ton of work on Toy's. He almost always has a heavily modded Toy or two in his parking lot. His # is (360) 398-9197.

I live on Axton road ! There is fun gravel pit just down the road from AutoTech that you could check out if your in the area. Chuck's is also a pretty good place to have work done. Super nice guy to deal with, good quality work also.

No one wants to work?? lol. Hey, the crankshaft pulley nut wouldn't happen to be reverse threaded would it? Wow... As I think about it. The crankshaft turns clockwise if you are looking at it. So it would make sense for it to be reverse threaded. Am I a complete moron??

Can you see the threads that it is screwed into? If you can just compare them to a bolt or somthing like that. Id help you but I'm doing homework

So it's not reverse threaded. Hmph. And CSK doesn't carry any tools for the job either. So I'm having a tool made for me. It will bolt up to the pulley and lock into place against the frame so I can yank on the ratchet till I'm blue in the face.

If an impact wrench doesn't work, use your starter to break it loose. This method has always worked for me.

I've got a 3/8" impact wrench and a 1/2" impact gun. I didn't waste my time with the wrench, and the gun didn't do it. The engineer I work with didn't have time today to make the tool so he's going to do it tomorrow. If that doesn't work, one of the other engineers has done lots of auto work and he has access to a really high powered impact gun that he's used on quite a few vehicles. He said he'd help me out if I couldn't get it on my own. So tomorrow I'll try the tool, and if that doesn't work I'll see about having the other engineer come over this weekend. Hopefully I'll get it done!!

I'll second Jeff at AutoTech. I work at the Schucks on Meridian near Costco and we do a lot of business with him.

So weird. I had tried to find other yotatechies in B'ham a while back and no one. Now it seems there's quite a few! I'm taking the pulley off to change my timing belt. My truck hasn't been running the same lately and I realized it was time to change the timing belt. It passes the visual inspection. There aren't any cracks or missing teeth, but it seems like it's been stretched out. It wasn't tight anymore. I'm hoping it's the source of my powerloss/intermittent miss. I'm trying to get everything back to 100% because... dare I say it. It looks like I'm selling it soon. I've gotten a job up in Ferndale and with all the added driving I'm doing, I can't justify the gas mileage. So I'm getting another 300ZX. But I'm not going to sell the truck until it's running perfect again. I don't like to pass on unfinished business.

Where at in ferndale do you work? I know quite few guys out there. When my friend changed his timing belt on his 3.slow it was in 2 pieces, split right down the middle. His truck has like 380k on it though . We should start a thread for nw washington peeps on here.
