Gas Prices...much higher = different truck/car?
#42
If you are turning your truck off in drive-throughs to save gas, why not just stay home and eat? I'm not trying to be wise, but that's insane.

As for the second part, when I am away from home, and need to eat, the drive through reigns supreme for convenience. Eating at home is not always an option, and if you are stopped, and have the engine running, you are getting 0 MPG. Why you got to playa hate???

The US as a whole gets less than half of it's crude oil from ourselves, Yes, that's true. But California gets about 85% of our oil from Alaska, and the deserts of Southern California, and we refine it here in California.

To each their own on the whole killing than starting the ignition at drive throughs. I personally would rather spend the fraction of a penny on gas than put unneeded stress of my starter. Cheers-James

I don't know what you guys complain about. I drive a full size truck that gets 12mpg on good days. I bought the girlfriend a 4runner so we could have something that gets decent mileage. 18mpg to me is soil-my-pants nice.

the electric motors in those are rated at like 400ft/lbs of tq if they have enough power going into them.
back on topic, everyone is talking about a new car, what about getting a motorcycle? You can get a used ninja 250 for pretty cheap and they get 70mpg

damn i love vegas sometimes. i jsut filled up about an hour ago for 1.50 a gallon for 92 octane. im dead serious. i have a REBEL rewards card, anyone from vegas knows what im talkin bout. i buy stuff there a lot, and the rewards card cuts the price per gallon down. and damn, i can feel a bit of a difference in performance now.. it gets up and goes, doesnt lag then go.

That 92 octane is not going to give you a performance boost. Might actually take some away. Search for "gas octane" or something like that and read up on what the different octane ratings mean.

Not really ideal for every day use. Most of us need a car that offers protection from accidents, and shelter from the elements, and other features. As fun as I think a motorcycle would be, and as efficient as they are, I just don't see buying one as a replacement for a vehicle.

I would look for a 92-95 Civic, which you should be able to pick up for less than $2000.

Been a while since I posted on here, but this is why I'm getting rid of my Duramax, 3.50+ for desiel is rediculous. I am hoping to get back into a Tacoma again shortly. I have a lawn busines that was growing, but since the housing market, gas, job market and everything else failed, it has come to a halt, and keeping this big thing is doing no good.

I don't think my bike ever got more than 25mpg. Civics are more expensive than that around here. I'd assume because their demand has shot up in recent years because of gas prices.

92 octane burns cleaner than 87, so it WILL give it a tiny boost. all i know is i felt a big difference. in my head? i dont know. all i know is i fill up with 92 every couple months to clean stuff out, seems to work

STOP COMPLAINING................regular down here is at $5.00us a gallon. premium is over $5.00us i would kill to have the gas price down here to be at $4.00us a gallon.
