Front diff leaking
My front diff has a leak on the passenger side where the CV goes into it. I imagine that I have a seal that has gone bad. Is it difficult to replace? Keep in mind, I have very few proper tools and no FSM so I know and have enough to make me dangerous. I'm o.k. mechanically, but sometimes I can be as sharp as a marble. There's some stuff that just escapes me and I shouldn't attempt to fix myself. Help a girl out, will ya?
Also, I'm thinking about getting a 4crawler 1" body lift and I was wondering if anyone had any pics of a 1st gen with this lift height added to their truck.

You are probably correct on the oil seal. Do the front axles on an '89 bolt to flanges that come out of the diff. If so I have the section from the FSM that will help you out, it has exploded views and instructions. The file is too large to post here but if you give me an email address I can send it to you next week.

Yea, I 'm pretty sure that my CV's bolt to some kind of plate that, in turn, goes into the diff. At least on the pass. side that is true. Thanks a ton! I'll PM you the email address.
