thanks,

Short story
I have a story you guys might like to hear. When i was in grade 12, I had a 67 ford bronco. It had a 6cyl in it. We bought a wrecked bronco that had a 302 in it. hurst shifter, 5 point roll cage. Lots of goodies. I pulled the 6 and tranny, modified the mounts. Bolted the v8 back in. Took a few weeks to do. Got it all running nice. Went to school in the morning like usual except this time the truck was v8 powered. After school i was proud as punch. Hoped in the truck. It rumbled so nice. Went to take off and the carb backfired and stalled.(holley 2 barrel) Tried to start it again. No go. jumped out of the truck and noticed flames under the motor. I was running around like a chicken with no head. No fire extinguisher. There were other students trying to help me. One ran into the school 2 times with an extinguisher each time but both were empty. I cant tell you what a nightmare it was to watch your truck go up in flames. Smoke was billowing from under the hood and from out the windows. I could see the hood melting as i watched in shock. Then the truck started driving forward as if it were trying to drive away. The wiring was melting causing the starter to engage and lurching the truck forwards. Finally the fire department showed up and put it out. It was totalled of course. Long story short i made the front page of the local newspaper. The picture was of me looking at my truck with tears in my eyes as i watched it burn.
So now i never have a vehicle without a fire extinguisher. If i cant save my truck i can atleast save someone elses .

I know the feeling
Dude, that's crazy!
I decided to take my extinguisher out of my Tacoma the night before I was first on the scene of a new F350 on fire the next morning.
They all lived, but I could have put it out. Instead of shooting it with foam, I took 12 digital pictures of it going up in flames. I will have to post them sometime.
Now I carry an extinguisher everywhere.

Just break it out with a fire extinguisher.
Seriously, you should search the forums.
No easy way to get it down manually.
Plenty different reasons why it might not want to go down.
Good luck.

After seeing these in action at the SOMA conference I now have the 12 oz version in my work truck. These are meant more for gaining access for extracting personnel, but I figured I'd post it here anyway.

Ya I think I'm leaning toward the Chevy 63s... It's seems like the most bang for the buck.
Only able to work on the runner on the weekend so I was able to finish up these manzanita shift knobs my neighbor turned on his lathe for me.
