Finally got a 3rd gen *lots of pics inside*
Finally got my 3rd gen 4Runner. It's a 97 SR5 with 75k miles on it. The engine is so clean, I am still amazed by it. It did not come with a roof rack or tow hitch though. So, does anyone have any of those that they dont need and mind selling me? If you do, please let me know. For now, here are some pics.

That's one VERY NICE looking interior
Did you use an engine cleaner? I'm still looking into that.
I'm also noticing that you haven't done the deckplate or Dr. Z's ISR mod. I give those two thumbs up, as will just about anyone else who's done it here
Nice rig, any pics of the rest?

I barely got it last week and havent driven it much yet. I dont know how the previous owner kept the engine so clean. I first thought that maybe they had it steam cleaned before they sold it, but kinda ruled that out since the stickers are so clean too, and I don't think you can clean stickers to look as clean as they do.

JMT,
Where are you in So Cal? I'm in Glendale. If you need some advice on mods or how to do them, check out the "Tech" section.
As for the roof rack, you can buy one on ebay for $155. I see the same guy selling it all the time. Tow hitches too but I dont recall the price. Ebay is your friend.
What mods do you plan to do on your truck?
Also, we're planning a huge 4runner meeting at Pismo Beach on Aug 8-10. I haven't updated the attendee list but we're probably close to 20. You gotta come. http://www.4runners.org/misc/pismo.html
As for keeping the engine clean, steam cleaning and/or using any engine cleaner and CD2 can be done anytime.
Bob

Very clean ride....I have a set of full Husky liners (grey) including the cargo mat that I will part with. These Husky's were only used for about six months in my '02, they don't fit the '03 model.

Hi Bob,
I've been reading the forums for awhile here before I got the 4runner and for some reason, thought that you lived in the same city as I do. Well, I live in El Monte, but am usually not there. I actually work and goto school in Irvine.
I dont have much planned yet, just wanna get those two pieces, alarm, vent visors, bug deflectors, the rear air thingy, and new tires. Probably gonna update the stereo system as well. As you can see, not much planned for off-roading and such. I do plan to go camping in August however. Have any suggestions as to where to go? The last 2 previous years, I've went Lake Cachuma in Santa Barbara county.

It looks great! I like the color also for obvious reasons How much did you get it for if you dont mind me asking? Also for a roof rack I would suggest getting regular factory tracks and using Yakima feet and bars. The Yakima setup is more versatile and looks better IMO.

JMT,
My family's business is in El Monte. We are about 1 mile northwest of Longo Toyota. If you're in the area on the weekdays, let's get together for lunch at King Taco and we can "talk shop". I'll give you the lowdown on years of Toyota 4runner knowledge in one lunch session!
As for your parts, I have a rear pair of MacNeil Weatherflectors that I can sell you for $20. Its $35 + $9 shipping (http://www.weathertech.com/store/veh...pt_choice_id=0) so you'll be saving more than $20. They are almost brand new. Just buy the front pair from Macneil and you'll have the best pair of vent visors on the market.
For the alarm, ask PhxTRDRunner on the boards here as he is very knowledgable about alarms and sells them too. Nice guy too.
Get some Husky liners too while youre at it. Cabelas is the place to go.
And if you need an Amsoil air filter (you'll need one---heh heh heh) and any fluids, email me and I'll help you out there too.
Camping suggestions in August? Sir, you HAVE to go to Pismo 4RJ. You'll meet all the crazies on the board there in one weekend.

Bob: No, Sac State is the place to go for Husky mats. I have a grey set, almost brand new, that I will part with. They don't fit my new vehicle.

That is a very clean looking vehicle! I just bought a 98' Limited about a month and a half ago in the exact same color. Took me forever to figure out what the color is called (Anthracite). The color has really grown on me. The chrome bumpers and alloy wheels really compliment it well. Looking at your photos makes me want to clean up my engine bay. Damn, I need to get some pics of my rig up soon!
