Fantasy Build-up
Right now my budget is very tight (new baby), and this is still a wife driven DD most days so it's staying stock height with 31's for now.
But in a few years, I intend to make this a mostly-trail rig, but still street legal to get to trails. I don't want an ARCA buggy or a monster truck, just a very capable rig for New England trails that won't break on me a lot.
Cost-no-object is a bit unrealistic, so here is my fantasy buildup with
Starting with my excellent '85 4Runner:
ENGINE:
• Downy Header and full SS exhaust
• Cam
• Snorkle
BODY:
• Allpro rear bumper
• Spare relocated to inside
• ARB winch bumper (front)
• HD Sill Sliders
ACCESSORIES:
• Ramsey 9k winch with Kevlar winch rope
• Hi-Lift Jack, Shovel, etc.
• Cobra CB
• Onboard Air
• 4 Hella Rally100's on front
SUSPENSION:
• 3" Lift from Downey with Old Man Emu shocks
• Allpro Diff truss and Diff skids
• NWOR Transfer case skid
• Front sway bar discos
ETC:
• Marlin Crawler Duel Stick Transfer Case
• Marlin Crawler Hy-Steer Conversion
AXLES:
• Longfields
• 4.88 Gears
• ARB lockers front and rear
TIRES:
• 33" BDG MT's on Rockcrawler rims
Well, that's what I'd do if I had the dough.

Maybe, but I really would want to keep it streetable. I also want to be able to get into the darn thing without a stepladder!
If I wanted to go really big, I'd build up a Unimog, not start with my 'Yota.
