egr delete issue
I wish to remove the egr system on my 2000 tacoma E3Rz motor. I keep getting a P401 code and after checking the sources of this code everything points to the egr valve. I have no problem taking off the egr and related hoses, etc as well as making block off plates. Tech manual says the egr system helps cool off the in coming air?? Hard to believe if the motor is using hot exhaust gas.......So how do I prevent the computer from throwing a code once the egr system is removed? Should I leave the air flow sensor hanging from the intake? or just diconnect it. From what I gather this sensor measures how much the air is able to cool this sensor. I removed the egr sensor from my V8 mustang and I have not had any issues. I assume the removal of my egr system will allow more cooler, denser air to enter the motor and thus add a little more power? thoughts? thanks
