Question Do steep angles lead to engine damage?

Hi folks,
I was just reading this thread:https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/crank-scraper-7606/ about windage trays or scrape trays. I had an interesting discussion with one of my good friends last night about this exact topic. He is heavy into stock car racing where they use these windage trays to gain HP. As FattyCBR mentioned, all the oil splashing does is resist the motion of the crank and wastes HP. However, my friend’s question was more with respect to potential long-term engine damage when wheeling mostly on steep roads. Would the fact that your engine oil accumulated mostly to the front or back when climbing or descending steep roads/trails cause engine damage in the long term from your crankshaft/connecting rods “hitting” this pool of oil? Any thoughts or comments?
Cheers,
P

Most often high angles are coupled with very slow speeds. Because of this, I'd venture to say that you won't damage your engine from this. However, if angles get severe enough that oil pressure suffers, that becomes a different story entirely.

Thanks for the info toy283. I was just pondering since I really did not have an answer for my friend at the time...
