Did I mess up! sagging REAR suspension

I just got My Runner back today with the 3" Toytec lift with OME shocks around, stock coils front and rear, the FRONT LOOKS AMAZING all i can say, now for the rear IT saggs 2" looks terrible!!!!!! It looks like I got a 1" lift in the rear??? so I immediately ordered some REAR OME 890's for the rear,

will this fix my problem or will i have a HIGHer rear than front now????

and if this is the worst case whats my options

Make sure the front and rear match up ABOUT the same (if you can't get it exact) and then add some top-out spacers on either the front or rear. See what happens when you buy before you research.

https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/new-suspension-setup-trd-front-lift-3rd-gen-4runner-41848/ is what you should have done.

The 890s won't give you 3" of lift to match the front.

Can't answer about the OME springs but why is the rear so off? If you were level before you did the lift, you shouldn't have such a drastic difference after the lift.

BTW, the old landcruiser coils can get you 3" lift in the rear IIRC. Search the off-road tech section for the link on the FJZ80 coils thread. There's a lot of info. Here's the thread: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/fzj80-springs-4runner-61255/

Okay Well here my only idea to why the rear is not level with the front, the front has a 3" spacer the rear has a 2.5" spacer but I guess the abuse or USE of the rear coils over the years has made them not as tight or bound?

so to rectify this I am going to leave the 2.5" spacer on there and throw these 890s on there,

My question was, is it gonna lift it 2" or is it gonna lift it 4"??

i dont think its a good idea to run spacers on the OME springs...maybe the springrate would change the ride quality.

If u need to go big in the rear...get some Downey coils or maybe LC

you can find a set of used 19.5" LC coils... they will run you $60-$75 and will give 3" +-.... the cheapest way to get 3", just ditch the rear spacer.....

Sorry about that, it was more of a joking remark anyway. I pretty much knew you did you search, it is just awkward to be sagging 2 inches just like that.

I completely agree marko, the runner looks like the old 2nd gens saggin in the rear, i guess its just old condensed, used coils, i hope these 890s will raise the rear at least 2" no more tho, but i cant back out of the order of the 890's

What does the Toytec lift kit include to attempt and lift the rear?

Also, I am just wondering which mods you added to gain 220HP? Just curiously hi-jacking a little. RWHP or @ crank?

Have you used your 3rd gen to haul or tow a lot of stuff? I don't think it's normal for the 3rd gens to sag as much as you've stated. It's not that I don't believe what you're saying, it's just not normal from what's been posted here.

I have a similar lift setup by Revtek and there are some uneven pavements that make the back look slightly lower than the fronts but when it's on even pavement, it's just right. Did your Toytec lift come w/ top-out spacers? I've considered taking mine off so that I have the fronts a little lower than the back. This may help to balance out the height for you plus you won't need as much lift in the back. Just a thought...

Why not just get 891 coils and sell off those rear spacers?

http://www.toyteclifts.com/4Runner.html

If you bought a complete kit and your vehicle is STILL sagging 2" in the rear...I'd strongly consider getting your money back. IT is SUPPOSED to lift the front and rear equally. WHY spend MORE money to FIX the PROBLEM w/ a KIT that you bought to FIX the problem in the first place?

Do the TRD lift and be done with it - anything else for lifting a 3rd gen 4Runner is 2nd best IMO.

Good luck.

The other option is to cut coils off the front springs to level the vehicle out but it is not recommended since it will stiffen spring rate and thus the ride (depending on the number of coils cut). I looked into doing it myself since I want to bring my OME 881/890s closer to stock (but I am also exploring the possibility of 99 4runner coils and spacers). The fronts can be cut, but the rears not so easily (because they are progressive). I do agree with Brian though, Toytec should own up to it if their product sagged significantly over time (maybe 1/4 to 1/2" is acceptable but 2", cmon now!!!!)

Webshots won't let you link to individual photos (due to dynamic linking) so just link us to your directory page.
