jackson,
yup, yup. i tried it all:
- fuel filter
- auto rx
- spark plugs and wires
- maf cleaning
- air filter cleaning
- injector cleaning
no appreciable gain in mpg. maybe 0.25 mpg more. that's it.
the biggest negatives affecting my gas mileage were the larger tires and my shorter commutes. i'm definitely not a lead foot either.

Okay it is a truck so the MPG is not gonna be all that great to begin with. Yes putting a bike rack on top will change the numbers just a bit due to air flow and weight and it will not make them better. If you want to use a bike to make the numbers better then you have to put the bike up front with a tow bar and some highly modified brakes then you can get the number to change for the better....being it is a Yota ..they could drop outta pure spite.....for me it is $50.00 for a full tank...I can not handle that so I trick my self and start looking to get gas right around the half tank mark ....I know no difference but it sure does seem better to pay $25 to the station than $50......you want really good MPG get a moped

And, everyone with bigger tires and no gear swap - you DO adjust your mileage figure to compensate for the odometer error, don't you?
