Considering trading Nissan for Tacoma

I am considering trading my nissan pickup, had for 15 years now, for a Tacoma. I am looking at 1999-2002. I would rather get a Prerunner since it will be my daily driver although a 4X4 would work if the price was right. Is there anything I need to look for in those years that might be a problem or TSB's to check for. Here's one I found thats a 4X4. Price has been reduced to 18,900.

That price is high. I just bought a brand new '04 from a Toyota dealer for about 22k (before TT&L) see below. Turned down a similar used SR5 4x4 for 19K with 14K on it. Go to http://www.edmunds.com/ for pricing info.

I dig those old nissan PUs but the Tacomas are excellent - go with the 3.4L as you wont be saving much in gas with the 4

I think there were some HG probs in the early runs (95.5-96) but that was later fixed....I would see if you could buy new as right now they are prob trying to move the old tacos for the new 2005s.
Other than that the only probelm you will find with the Tacoma are the seats - long trips can be painful - some people complain of dash rattles in the Tacos - but they are trucks - theyre not a camry, but that is something to watch out for if that kind of thing annoys you - take it down a bumpy road or something

I say keep the nissan PU and buy a Taco!
