Clutch Problems
Took my car in the dirt this weekend and for the first time since I have owned it I tried to push it a little. Anyway while I was going up some steep hills in 4High the clutch was slipping. I would have put it in 4Low but I did not want to switch on the hill. Is it normal for a clutch to slip under a severe load, or is it just getting worn out? I did not have my foot on the peddle at all. The truck has 107k miles on it.

This might be real silly, and please blame my lack of knowledge of clutches and standard's in general for this, but are you sure it wasn't the tires slipping. I am assuming you thought the clutch was slipping because of high rpms?

Oh yea I smelled it. I thought the tires were slipping until the cloud of smoke came out the side. That was two days ago and that car still smells like clutch. I am sure it is just worn out.
